Strain guide · Hybrid
Hybrid: the best-of-both chapter.
Here's the industry's open secret: nearly everything on a modern shelf is a hybrid. Decades of breeding crossed the old landrace sativas and indicas into strains tuned for balance — bright but not racy, relaxed but not glued down. If you don't know where to start, you start here.
Reading the lean
Sativa-leaning
Daytime-friendly with softer edges than a pure sativa. Social plans, errands, creative time — engaged, but not wired.
True 50/50
The 'one jar for everything' pick. Relaxed body, clear head — works at 2 PM and at 9 PM, which is why balanced hybrids are perpetual best-sellers.
Indica-leaning
Unwinds the evening without ending it. Dinner still happens, the movie still gets finished — you're just doing it all from the soft side of the couch.
Why most regulars live here
Pure lanes are great when you know exactly what an evening holds. Hybrids forgive a change of plans. The same jar covers a lazy Saturday and a social one — and when you want to fine-tune from there, the terpene guide is the map. New to all of it? Start with Cannabis 101.

Hybrid questions, answered
- What is a hybrid strain?
- A cross between sativa and indica genetics. Almost everything grown today is technically a hybrid — the label tells you the intended balance. 'Sativa-leaning' tilts bright and active, 'indica-leaning' tilts calm and heavy, and '50/50' aims for the middle.
- Are hybrids good for beginners?
- They're the most common starting point, yes — a balanced hybrid at a low dose gives you a feel for both sides of the map without committing hard to either. Tell the budtender it's your first visit and they'll steer you to friendly picks (and you get 20% off).
- What does sativa-leaning or indica-leaning mean?
- It describes which parent's character dominates. A 70/30 sativa-leaning hybrid mostly behaves like a sativa with softer edges; a 70/30 indica-leaning hybrid relaxes without necessarily gluing you to the couch. The lean is a compass, not a contract — terpenes finish the story.
- What are popular hybrid strains?
- Blue Dream, Gelato, Wedding Cake, Runtz and GSC are modern classics, each with its own lean. Our case rotates constantly with California drops — check the live menu or ask what's loudest this week.
